What do you want me to do for you?

So, the question is, why did Jesus ask a question that he already knew the answer to? Jesus said, “What do you want me to do for you?”

The key point here is Jesus already understands blind Bartimaeus’ situation. Jesus is the Word of God and the bible says in John 1:1” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. So, The Word of God, which is Jesus, was here before blind Bartimaeus existed.

Why is this important? Jesus knows and understands our problems or our circumstances, before we even have them. When Jesus asked the question to blind Bartimaeus, it put them into a conversation. This is where we can get excited, because the one who truly understands what we are going through and the one who can heal, will ask us a question that gives us dialogue with Him, to resolve our inner issues.
